Austin, you may be right about some of this, but your piece reads like a lot of conjecture & speculation. “Clear as Day”? Far from it.

It has been reported that Manafort was wire-tapped starting in 2014, under a FISA court secret order. We also know that the FBI raided his Alexandria, VA home a few weeks back. From this, you jump to:

1. the FBI must have also wire-tapped Manafort’s temporary residence in the Trump Tower last year (the CNN article states that this is not known)
2. the wire-tapping must have “incidentally” picked up Trump conversations (the CNN article states that this is not known)
3. Hillary must have “begged” for all this — your source for this, please?

Don’t get me wrong, speculation is fun, and you have the background to make some educated guesses. But one thing doesn’t add up — if the FBI started trailing Manafort in 2014, before Trump entered the 2016 presidential race, on what basis do you say “ As if anyone believes Trump wasn’t the true target”?
