Ritika, I have not heard of Kuldhara before and I will refrain from googling it so that I can rely on the merits of your well-crafted account.

I’m thinking how unlikely it is for a village to up and relocate without historical record of where they ended up. Is it not posssible that the villagers met a darker fate — perhaps that they were slaughtered — and that the abandonment and curse is a cover-up of that crime — perhaps by the unscrupulous minister, raging mad at having been rejected. The curse would ensure that no one came to the village to discover evidence of the crime.

Just a theory.
