I honestly respect the need to link back to the original picture and photographer but I must say that when I see a picture with citation in the middle of a piece I am immersed in, it takes me completely out of the immersion.
Sai, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way! A citation below an image, even in small type, can break the reader’s concentration, if it tries to pack too much info. I used to do source / author citations for stock photos, but lately I’ve gotten in the habit of just adding a source link below the image, so that anyone interested in details can click through. Stella may think it’s taking shortcuts or being lazy, I don’t disagree, I justify it to myself as an elegant minimalist compromise.
