Yeah — re-posting old content for fresh views is a whole separate bad habit that deserves its own debate. You can’t stop authors from doing it, but they should be required to cite their prior posts, as they would when referencing or borrowing from other sources.

Now — frequency of posting. The few people who are the worst offenders with over-posting and market-flooding … there aren’t many but they are highly visible … have the effect of inundating their followers’ finite screen real estate. It is inconsiderate self-promotion, as I argue above.

If these folks published less, then of course Medium would fill the void with other material, and the net effect would be greater variety, and more opportunity from the best stuff from other writers to filter through.

I never asked for less overall content. I ask for higher quality from each contributor.
